Sunflowers!
Even though my Southwest Missouri garden has had record high temperatures (without rain) during the months of July and August, my reliable annual sunflowers are in full bloom. Not only enjoyed by me, but a ton of pollinators...Dwarf Variety 'Junior'
I love planting these dwarf sunflowers (only 2 feet in height) in the front row of my vegetable garden. In addition to adding color to the garden, the goldfinches (and my chickens!) enjoy the seeds after the flowers fades...
