March Blooms...

Crazy weather in the Midwest, it's been 70-80°F all week. Everyone (chickens and cats included) has spring fever!

Grape Hyacinth and Heritage Chickens!
Forsythia--a sure sign spring is almost (officially) here...
Forsythia also makes a great shady spot--for a chicken...
Hellebores--They've bloomed non-stop for the past month :)
"Little Kitty"
Daffodils...

Catnap in a Birdbath...
I quit using this birdbath (as a birdbath) for the above reason!

  1. I love your chicken photos with all the blooms! But, your cat in the bird bath takes the cake! That is just adorable!

  2. Found your blog thru "Life on a Southern Farm". Great pics. Love the idea of the birdbath on the trunk. Just gave me all sorts of ideas since we have to cut down several sick trees.
Love the pics of the creatures too.

  7. Nice photos of Spring. That's what we need Becks - and you've supplied them! It feels warmer here already. :-)

My chooks have eaten all my Daffs before they've got going. Greedy hens!

  19. Your cat in the bath is adorable. DO you have any problems with your cat attacking your grown chickens? One of our cats is a real hunter we are being very careful to not let him near our chicks but I am wondering about when the chicks are grown if we will have to watch them like a hawk.
