Viburnum ~ Not sure which variety, but I think that it's Viburnum opulus var. americanum 'American Cranberry Bush'
Viburnum ~ This viburnum was also here before we purchased our property... It's some sort of snowball variety that produces very little, if any, fruit in the fall.
The Bearded Irises that have been in my family for generations are faithfully blooming once again...
I'm not sure of the variety of this columbine. I sprinkled the seeds in my garden a few years and now each year I have columbine blooms showing up all over the garden!
At least Henrietta, the Buff Orpington, is doing her share of weeding in my garden!
Chickens are definitely harder workers than cats...

Such pretty blooms! Love the Viburnum and that pretty Columbine. Great to see Henrietta helping out!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty show of spring blooms! I particularly liked the iris, such nice colour. Here in London spring hasn't got just as far yet, but my Viburnum eskimo has big balls about to burst and the Lily of the Valley has started to emerge.
ReplyDeleteHA! great photo of the kitty. everything is beautiful but I LOVE that iris!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful garden you must have! All perennial flowers are my favorites, I love the idea of planting them once and they return every year for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, spring flowers are just lovely aren't they? I also have a kitty helper who works about as hard as yours...
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely photos Rebecca. I think that if I had a large property I would plant Viburnum shrubs aswell as they are a beautiful addition to the garden in Spring. You're a little ahead of me as my columbine flowers are not in flower yet but my dicentra has just started.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your garden. I will be returning. I, too, like perenniels. I'll be adding columbine and bleeding heart this year.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your shot of the cat...perfect! Your blooms are looking great too...love all the white!
ReplyDeleteCats do their bit Becks! They make the world a more beautiful place. And boy, don't they know it, lol.
ReplyDeleteHello, I just found your blog on GBBD. Lovely blooms and critters you have there! I have what looks like the same columbine in my garden, inherited from a previous owner. Gets really big and seeds all over the place, but I love that blue color!
ReplyDeleteGreat blooms!
ReplyDeleteI have that Snowball, too!
I am just getting to know Columbines - Love your blue ones!
Cats and Chickens - two things every garden needs! (I have cats, but no chickens).
Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!
