Bluebirds 2013

This is the second year I've had Bluebirds nest in one of my older green-roof birdhouses! We loved watching the couple work together to feed the young birds until they eventually fledged. Hopefully next year the parents or their offspring will return to one of the increasing number of bluebird houses I'm accumulating at my property!

Fledglings!

  5. Love those birdhouses....I have added 2 new ones and the bluebirds had a second successful group of fledglings here...love to watch them too. Saw one of the juveniles in the yard the other day grabbing berries from a viburnum.

  12. I had bluebirds this year, too. They return every year to a cylindrical house mounted near a river birch. Each spring chickadees and other birds attempt to move in but the bluebirds always win. I really love those green roof bird houses!
